In the first stage, there was a large group of contestants where the first 25 were chosen basing on the number of votes. In the second stage five were chosen, and at the end of the final stage of voting which began on 4th of May and ended on 24th of May, the winner of Macy’s IheartRadio Raising Star has emerged. Christina Grimmie is ranked in the first position as she got the highest number of votes.
Grimmie was voted for by the highest number of people as compared to her competitors in the voting that ended last Sunday, hence becoming the winner of the Macy’s IheartRadio Raising Star award. She now has the opportunity to perform at the 2015 iHeartRadio Music Festival at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The Festival will take place in on 18th and 19th of September.
The 21-year-old rising star expressed her joy on twitter. “THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU GUYS. TEAMGRIMMIE THANK YOU!!!!! WE DID IT GUYS. I AM OPENING THE IHEART RADIO MUSIC FESTIVAL THIS YEAR!!!!!” she wrote on Twitter immediately after it was announced that she won the contest.
After the voters being given a chance to vote 50 times a day, in the first stage, second, and even final stage, it’s clear that Grimmie has had enough votes qualifying her at every stage, and has had the highest in the finals. It’s evident that the other four who went up to finals also have to learn that they have fans who are committed to them since reaching finals in such competition isn’t easy.
