Many people around the world have always wanted to travel to USA, and other developed countries. US being the supper power, spacious, liberal, (the list is endless), many have always rushed for the Electronic Diversity Visa Lottery to try their luck. This year applicants were given only one month, and surprisingly some who planned for it were not aware of the time reduction from two months to one month.
The application period began on 1st October 2013 at 12:00PM EDT (GMT -4) and is ending today 2nd November 2013 at 12:00PM EDT (GMT -4). When the last week of October began, some who went on the internet to fill the application form were shocked to see that it was less than seven days to closure. Most of them might have checked after 1st October and found out that it was on, but didn’t concentrate on the ending date. Some even realized on 31st October that it was ending on 2nd November.
Some we talked to did not even know that this year there will be the Visa Lottery application since they didn’t know that after Republicans who dominated US congress passed a bill to ban DV Lottery in 2012, the democrats did not accept it and it wasn’t signed by the President. So they believed it had been banned and that this year there would be no applications for the Diversity Visa Lottery.
In the past, some have been selected, and others not. Among the selected ones, some have passed the interviews and left to USA while others failed and remained in their countries. Well, this year’s application having been available for only one month and not two as usual. Will the applicants be less than those in the past years? We shall only hear that from the US department that is in charge of DV Lottery.
