As 2016 nears, the U.S. presidential aspirants continue in competing to prove and disapprove each other on the issues concerning the nation. Donald Trump disapproved Rick Perry’s past leadership when he was the Governor of Texas for 15 years, saying he did not secure the border. Perry hit back at Trump saying his comments on immigration are “a toxic mix of demagoguery and nonsense” and that he doesn’t understand what securing border is all about.
Trump continues to point out what has gone wrong with U.S. and just like his fellow aspirants, he throws criticism in some cases. This time he criticized Perry for not securing the Texas border when he was the Governor of the state, saying Perry “did a terrible job when he was the governor of Texas, he could have done a lot better in terms of security…”, but Perry replied back. In his reaction, Perry said Trump’s comment on his past leadership doesn’t make any sense and they are demagoguery. “What Mr. Trump is offering is not conservatism, it is Trump-ism — a toxic mix of demagoguery and nonsense,” Perry said. He added that Trump “believes states should fend for themselves on border security.”
Perry also criticized President Barack Obama for not putting proper security along southern border. “Not only is this wrong, it perpetuates the same failed policies that have left our southern border porous and vulnerable,” he talked of President Obama. “America doesn’t need another president who will pass the buck on border security,” he said. “We need a president who will finally act to secure the border after decades of failed leadership in Washington, D.C. And Mr. Trump has done nothing to prove that he is the president America needs.” Perry concluded.
