Selena Gomez Doesn’t Regret Not Having ‘Normal’ Childhood

Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez is one of the few stars who emerged into fame world at a very tender age. Living a celebrity life, she obviously missed out several things like privacy, which other children had. Gomez is aware that she didn’t have joy as much as other children of her age who weren’t famous had. She however doesn’t regret it at all.

It’s true that regardless of the stage in life people want peace and joy, and they also want privacy. For Gomez, her childhood didn’t have them, at least for a good period. The singer who has been in fame for almost thirteen years talked to GQ magazine and revealed how being a child star would be tough sometimes. The star who went to limelight at the age of around ten said despite all frustration she faced due to rumors about the cause of her rehab, she doesn’t regret it at all since she chose that life. “I chose this. So I’m not gonna sit here and say, ‘Oh, my God, poor me. I didn’t have a normal childhood.’ I don’t give a f–k about that,” Gomez said in the interview with the magazine.

She said kids who step into limelight do fall victims of such frustration so easily. “We’re easy targets,” she said. “Every single kid who was brought up like this is an easy target. It’s disgusting, because it’s interesting to grown adults that these kids go through weird things because they’re figuring out, ‘Do I like this? Do I love this? Maybe I love this person. Oh, I’m exposed to this, people are reporting my every move and this and that because of Instagram and Twitter, and you can find out everything.’” She said.

Living without regrets is one way of living a happy life. The fact that Gomez went through a tough life because of being a child star, hence missing the joy and privacy other kids had, she doesn’t want that to control her happiness instead she believes the old has passed, and she is focusing on her present good life. She doesn’t care about the past.
